Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and secrete growth hormone. It is used in some wellness and longevity programs to support body composition, sleep quality, recovery, and metabolic function.

What Is Sermorelin?

Who Should Not Use Sermorelin

Sermorelin should not be used by individuals who:

  • Are allergic to Sermorelin or any ingredients in the formulation
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have active malignancy (cancer) without medical clearance
  • Have hypothyroidism that is untreated. Thyroid function should be normalized before starting Sermorelin
  • Have uncontrolled chronic illnesses without supervision from a licensed provider

Precautions and Warnings

Inform your provider if you have or have had:

  • Diabetes or blood sugar dysregulation (Sermorelin may affect insulin sensitivity)
  • Hypothyroidism or other thyroid conditions
  • History of cancer, particularly pituitary tumors
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Kidney or liver disease
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Fluid retention or edema

Common Side Effects

Most side effects associated with Sermorelin are mild and temporary. They may include:

  • Injection site redness, swelling, or discomfort
  • Headache
  • Flushing
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Joint or muscle pain
  • Water retention or mild swelling
  • Numbness or tingling (particularly in the hands)

If you experience any severe or prolonged symptoms, notify your provider immediately.

Serious Reactions (Rare)

In rare cases, patients may experience:

  • Hypersensitivity or allergic reaction
  • Significant changes in blood sugar levels
  • Worsening of pre-existing conditions

Stop treatment and seek medical attention immediately if you experience trouble breathing, chest pain, or swelling of the face, lips, or throat.

Use and Administration

  • Use Sermorelin only as directed by your licensed provider.
  • Do not exceed the prescribed dosage or frequency.
  • Sermorelin is typically administered via subcutaneous injection, often in the evening.
  • If you miss a dose, contact your provider for guidance before resuming.
  • Report any adverse effects or unexpected symptoms during treatment.
